Let me explain... The Equality Human Rights Commission (EHRC) have released some advice to the Women & Equalities minister to explain that sex should only mean biological sex.
Why does changing this cause problems? Trans men and women who have a Gender recognition Certificate have their gender recognised as their legal sex.
So by definition of sex it would/could make everything obsolete.
Trans women are women…can someone let them know that.. As is widely understood that the definition of a women includes trans women and has done for some time. The further danger in this is that single sex spaces would be redefined.
A petition has been formed, I ask that you take a look.
Fundamentally it's important to remember that nothing has changed up to this point, but understandably it sparks additional fear to the LGBTQIA+ community.
